The Prince George’s County Planning Board meetings are held online on most Thursdays. Speaker registration for the Board’s weekly meetings is available online five days prior to the day of the hearing. Select the Planning Board Meeting tab below to register to speak.

The Planning Board also schedules annual public forums on its budget and, either alone or jointly with the Prince George’s County Council, periodically holds public hearings on various planning projects, including master plans and sectional map amendments, at locations around the county.

Planning Board Meetings

Persons signing up to speak after this date and time will not be permitted to address the Board but may watch the Planning Board hearing streamed live. Materials received after this date and time will not be considered by the Planning Board but will be included in the record of the case. NOTE: Signing up as a Person/Party of Record does not entitle you to speak at the meeting. You must also sign up to speak for that particular session.

  • Materials will be accepted into the record upon presentation, and testimony may be offered. 
  • Speakers may be subject to time limits to accommodate all who wish to speak.
  • The order of agenda items is for the convenience of the Planning Board and does not indicate the order in which cases will be called.
  • Public participation is encouraged either through our phone bridge or by using GoTo Meeting (online video meeting software).

Participation Guidelines

Sign up to speak

All participants must sign up by 12:00 p.m. NOON, on Tuesday, two days prior to the Planning Board meeting. Once registered, you will receive an email with information on how to join the meeting. Fill out the form to register to speak.

Submit materials

All materials MUST be submitted by 12:00 p.m. NOON, on Tuesday, two days prior to the meeting via email to pgcpb@mncppc.org at the Planning Board Office. By submitting written materials, you solemnly swear or affirm that the statements made therein are the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Mute your microphone

All participants should mute their microphone when not speaking. Please do not place this call on hold.

Use only one device

To eliminate audio feedback, only 1 (one) connected device (with sound) should be in a room at the same time.

Connect via computer/smartphone

Anyone connecting through a computer (laptop or desktop) or a smartphone can connect through the link provided via email after signing up. Users may be prompted to install GOTO Meeting software to participate in this process.

To participate or listen from a telephone, use the call-in number provided via email.

Full Commission Meetings

The Prince George’s County Planning Board and Montgomery County Planning Boards meet monthly as the Full Commission to review bi-county, regional, or M-NCPPC-related agenda items. Joint Public Hearings

The Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) and the Prince George’s County Council sitting as the District Council hold joint public hearings to solicit comments from the public on land use matters.

Deadline

Advance registration is available until 3:00 p.m. on the day BEFORE the meeting.

Comments or Written Testimony

To register to speak or submit comments or written testimony, please use the Council’s eComment portal. Please note that written testimony or comments will be accepted electronically rather than by U.S. mail. For those unable to use the portal, comments/written correspondence may be emailed to clerkofthecouncil@co.pg.md.us or faxed to 301-952-5178. Written comments may be submitted through the close of business on Wednesday, prior to when the record of public hearing testimony will close.

Budget Forums

The Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) will hold 2024 Public Budget Forums to solicit comments on the Commission’s budget for planning, parks, and recreation in Prince George’s County for the next fiscal year, which begins July 1, 2025.

Virtual Budget Forum

Individuals who wish to speak at the virtual forum must register online by 12:00 p.m. Noon the day before the forum.

  • Following your registration submission for the virtual budget forum, an email will be sent with the GoTo Meeting (online video meeting software) information by 3:00 p.m. on the day before the budget forum, including the phone number and a web address to connect to the meeting.
  • To submit documentation as a part of the forum, email information to PublicAffairs@ppd.mncppc.org.
  • Public participation is encouraged through a phone bridge or GoTo Meeting. The forums can be viewed live by using the WATCH ONLINE link next to the meeting date above, and a video recording will be available for review after the hearing.
  • Important: After you have submitted your registration form, please make sure that you check your spam or junk mail folder regularly. You may receive several emails from the Planning Board office, including an email with the log-in or call-in information.
