Bridget Stesney Named Acting Deputy Director, Administration and Development for the M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County

The Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) announces that Bridget Stesney will serve as Acting Deputy Director, Administration and Development for the M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County. In this role, she will direct and lead the work programs for the following divisions for the Department: Capital Planning and Development, Information Technology Services, Management Services, Park Planning and Environmental Stewardship, and Public Affairs and Community Engagement.

Bridget Stesney possesses approximately 20 years of experience in capital projects, park and facility planning, budgeting, resource allocation, strategic planning, sustainability, logistics, fleet, and technology. She has served as the Department’s Division Chief of Capital Planning and Development since 2019, where she provides strategic oversight for the Department’s $433 million FY27–FY32 adopted Capital Improvement Program and more than 120 active capital projects. Prior to joining M-NCPPC, she served in leadership positions with the Urban Land Institute, District of Columbia (DC) Public Schools, and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation.

Bridget holds two bachelor’s degrees, in biology and environmental policy, from Central Michigan University. She also earned a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Tech, with a concentration in land use and urban design.
