M-NCPPC Prince George’s County Planning Board and Department Announce October 2024 Events and Meetings
LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Planning Board and the Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) announce their upcoming public events and meetings for October 2024. Prince George’s County Planning Board Meetings

The Prince George’s County Planning Board meets virtually on Thursdays to consider planning, zoning, subdivision, and other matters within its jurisdiction. The meetings may be viewed via live streaming video. Public participation is encouraged either through a phone bridge or by using GoTo Meeting. Everyone who wishes to speak at the Planning Board meeting must register online by Noon on the Tuesday, two days prior to the Planning Board meeting. Written comments, documents, and exhibits must be received via email, fax, or mail by Noon on the Tuesday before the Planning Board meeting to be included in the record. Subdivision and Development Review Committee Meeting

Subdivision and Development Review Committee (SDRC) is a coordination and interagency meeting early in the development review process with the applicant and M-NCPPC staff, where the public can be invited to virtually view the meeting only. The meetings are held virtually and may be viewed via live streaming video. The agendas are posted online.
Joint Public Hearing – The Staff Draft West Hyattsville-Queens Chapel Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment (SMA) (CR-002-2022)

The Prince George’s County Council, sitting as the District Council, and the Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will hold an in-person Joint Public Hearing on The Staff Draft West Hyattsville-Queens Chapel Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment (SMA) (CR-002-2022) at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building, 1st Floor Council Hearing Room, 1301 McCormick Drive, Largo, MD 20774. The meeting may be viewed via live streaming video at https://pgccouncil.us/LIVE. Prince George’s County Planning Board Annual Budget Forum

Virtual Meeting
The Prince George’s County Planning Board will hold a 2024 Budget Forum to solicit comments on the M-NCPPC budget for planning, parks, and recreation in Prince George’s County for the next fiscal year, which begins July 1, 2025. Everyone who wishes to speak at the Budget Forum must register online by Noon, Tuesday, October 1, 2024. PAMC-funded “Cottage City Community Center Feasibility Study” Presentation

The Prince George’s County Planning Department and Neighborhood Design Center will present draft findings on the “Cottage City Community Center Feasibility Study.” Funded by the Planning Assistance to Municipalities and Communities, this project explores the feasibility of constructing and operating a small community center on two lots adjacent to the town hall. The function of the community center would be to host community meetings and for limited indoor recreation. Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy Public Workshop #1

The Prince George’s County Planning Department and consultants will present draft findings and conduct engagement on the Chesapeake Rail Trail Feasibility Study at the Town of Upper Marlboro Board of Town Commissioners Work Session on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Funded by the Planning Assistance to Municipalities and Communities, the feasibility and design study explores a segment of the planned hard-surface Chesapeake Beach Rail Trail starting at MD 725 (Marlboro Pike). Central US 1 Neighborhood Compatibility Study Charette Process

Residents and community stakeholders are invited to share thoughts on shaping the community, review design strategies, and provide feedback on a range of topics like streetscape improvement, transportation, development compatibility and character, open spaces, and services.
