Self-Guided Tours

Take a self-guided tour of Montpelier House Museum! Come inside and learn about the people who lived and worked here, and made all this beauty possible.

Self-guided tours are available year-round, ThursdayMonday, 10 am to 4 pm. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

May through October, we have extended hours on the fourth (4th) Thursday of the month – open until 8 pm.

Group tours available for 10 or more people. Reservations required. Call 301-377-7817.  

Explore the grounds any time, dawn 'til dusk. Take a sweet-smelling stroll in the flower and herb garden, even test your knowledge of traditional herbal remedies with a free scavenger hunt. This and other free scavenger hunts will keep young and old minds active, even on the laziest summer days. Or play a game of hide and seek in the boxwood maze! Afterward, relax in the cool shade of centuries-old trees - picnics encouraged!

Museum Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is located in the mansion tour entrance. You'll find Montpelier memorabilia, tea, books for adults and children, music, unique hand-made jewelry, decorative items, and old-fashioned toys.
