There are many way to volunteer at Riversdale. No experience is necessary and training is provided for all volunteer opportunities and we invite you to learn, explore, and engage! View more information and complete a Riversdale volunteer application here!

| Kitchen Guild | Share your love of cooking with the public while utilizing 19th century recipes and equipment during demonstrations in the restored open hearth kitchen. | Yes |
| Shop Assistant | Assist staff and the Riversdale Historical Society welcoming guests who are visiting the museum. Assistants are also responsible for answering questions, selling merchandise, helping with inventory, pricing, and shop displays. | No |
| Special Event | Engage in a variety of ways during public programs. Tasks may include greeting guests, staffing an information table, or aiding with children's and family activity stations. | Yes |
| Tour Guide | Lead tours for groups and individuals who are visiting Riversdale House Museum and provide guests with an inclusive experience while sharing the many stories of the site. | Yes |

| Garden Aide | Assist maintaining the kitchen gardens and orchard and provide support for public garden programming. Tasks may include planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting in beautiful gardens abundant in flowers, fruits, vegetables, and herbs. | Yes |
Riversdale Historical Society
Become a Member
The Riversdale Historical Society is the volunteer support organization for Riversdale. The Society has worked diligently and successfully to obtain political support for funding the restoration of the house and continues to raise funds for a variety of restoration and interpretive projects.
The Society also operates the Riversdale Museum Shop, with its inventory of distinctive books, gifts, and toys.
Your membership in the Society will ensure that this historic site will continue to be a source of pride and education for the people of Prince George's County, the state of Maryland, and our nation.
