Patrol Services

Field Operations provides direct law enforcement services to the citizens and visitors of the park system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patrol Services are made up of lieutenants, sergeants, and ten squads of patrol officers who have been trained in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Lidar, Bike and T-3 Patrol.

Responsibilities

Patrol Services officers respond to both non-emergency and emergency calls for police service, and are involved in community outreach activities. Bike Patrol officers patrol hiker/biker trails and assist with security details at large events. Each officer in Patrol Services is assigned to one specific beat and is encouraged to take ownership of that area while resolving one-time and recurring crime concerns. Patrol Services is tasked with assisting allied law enforcement agencies with large crowds, presidential details and weather-related emergencies.

Community Involvement

Officers work closely with the staff and patrons of the community centers within their respective beats. Field Operations personnel are often assigned to positive youth development activities at local parks and community centers, community festivals, the County Fair, and other large signature community events, to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for participants.
